Our Final Tower reaching 82 cm |
Group Evaluation
1.This is a Picture of our completed tower
2. We used 9 cm of tape, 10 marshmallows, and 15 spaghetti sticks. This totals up to $340.
3. Our tower was an amazing 82 cm.
4. I did like the design of my tower at first because it was a rectangle, but it was very wobbly and unstable.Later we twisted the sides and it slowly turned to pyramids. We knew that the triangle is one of the strongest shapes so we utilized that fact and ended up liking the design. It ended up as very strong and could stand on its own. Then we built a triangular prism on top and used two last spaghetti sticks to make it 82 cm.
5. Our Biggest challenge was the original tower that was a rectangle was not standing up and was very unstable. we overcame it by twisting the sides which made it very strong because it formed pyramids. Later our sticks kept cracking so we kept having to tape them up which used up some of our money.
6. If i had an opportunity to edit my tower i would not. I feel that our tower was one of the best and was pretty stable until we started messing around with it when we were finished.
Self Evaluation
1. I personally felt very rushed on the first two days, but i had a good time during this in-class project when we finally managed to get our tower to be stable. My group worked very well together and was ready to work on the project as soon as we could.
2. Everyone's designs were all basically similar because everyone knew about the pyramid and the strength behind them. Also many people put a spaghetti sticking out from the top to get to the minimum length.
3. If i could add another material I would definitely choose wooden skewer sticks. They are much stronger than spaghetti and would not break as easily as the spaghetti.
4. My contribution to the group was the Architect, creating the design or the tower, and Foreman, the person who helped build.
